Let’s be honest: the jump from a university degree to a real-world Data Engineering role is huge. Most companies expect you to be a Senior on day one, but they don’t actually show you how to get there. At the SpiceUp Academy, we’re doing things differently. This is NOT an internship. It’s a 6-month, high-intensity enablement program designed to bridge the gap between your studies and a long-term career as a Data Engineer. We treat you like a pro from the start. That means a permanent, indeterminate contract on Day 1 and a total compensation package of 1.15M HUF/month.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
- The Global Tech Stack You won’t be working on “practice” tasks. You’ll master the exact stack we use for our global clients: Apache Spark and Databricks on AWS/Azure.
- Accelerated Development & Mentorship Your weeks will alternate between deep-dive technical classes and hands-on project delivery. You’ll also shadow our senior consultants on real client calls to see exactly how we solve complex puzzles for EMEA and US customers.
- Paid Certifications & Learning We don’t just teach you; we certify you. We fully fund your professional data and cloud certifications throughout the program (and your entire career with us). Plus, you get dedicated learning time during work hours and full access to Databricks’ internal courses.
PROGRAM TIMELINE
Phase 1: The Foundation (Weeks 1–11) Learning the core mechanics of the Modern Data Lakehouse.
- Orientation: System setup and Databricks essentials.
- Sprints 1-3: Hands-on Capstone projects covering SQL, Git, Cloud fundamentals, and Distributed Engineering. You’ll learn to handle messy data and scope creep.
- Assessment: Phase 1 Entrance Exam and Databricks Spark Associate Certification.
- Architecture: Building end-to-end Medallion pipelines (Bronze-Silver-Gold) and Unity Catalog governance.
- Team Simulation: An 8-week intensive squad project migrating a legacy Retail Bank to a Lakehouse, featuring Agile rituals and real-world “fail scenarios.”
- Assessment: Databricks Data Engineer Associate Certification.
- Client Shadowing: Join live project calls to observe requirement gathering and senior-level decision-making.
- Internal Project: Build a reusable “Accelerator” tool for the company.
- Graduation: Final portfolio demo to company leadership.
